I was asked this week, what the most important piece of equipment I had as a public transport photographer, while shooting a new bus on Friday.
The response was easy, a good wide angle zoom lens.
On the front of my camera is the Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 lens (cost £829)
While the skill & patience of a wildlife photographer is often needed, a telephoto lens isn’t, as buses are big, really big when compared with a Heron!
And lets face it, trams and trains are even bigger still, so when shooting in close proximity, you’ll be glad of a wide, fast lens.
Oh, and the bus in question, is the Wrightbus Streetdeck, for any nerds out there.
